Breakfast In Bed

I’ll be honest — I’m a homebody of sorts, but when the Fall and Winter months set in, I’m SO ready to go into full hibernation mode. Given my regular 9-to-5 job, however, that’s a luxury I simply can’t afford… so I save my indulgent moments for the weekend, when I can take the time to do things that keep my mood up with a little bit of sunshine in my life.

So what does an ideal weekend morning look like for me? I’m a pretty light sleeper and early bird, so even on the mornings that I’m “sleeping in,” I’m never asleep past 7:00AM. Breakfast and a giant mug (I bought that one in Amsterdam earlier this year!) of coffee or tea in bed is the first order of the day, coupled with a light read or a catch-up session on my favorite TV shows.  After breakfast, I like to plan my weekend from the comfort of my bed too… this involves knocking out a couple emails I missed over the course of the week, booking and scouting photo shoot locations, and catching up on my favorite blogs, websites and online retailers. And then I’m off to the showers to get ready for the rest of my day (which usually involves me working on content you’re reading on this site)! It may not look like much of an indulgent morning routine, but given that I’m out the door on weekdays around 8:00AM, the extra hours that I can spend in bed on the weekends are GOLDEN.
