Got a second? Cool. Let’s talk about this website you’re reading right now! As a blogger / content creator / digital influencer / whatever new buzzword it is that people have come up with to describe what I do these days — it’s easy to be misunderstood. While the pretty pictures I post are just one part of it, there is a whole lot more behind-the-scenes work that goes into every single post that you guys read here! Even while I’m not publishing content on Instagram, I’m negotiating partnership deals, editing and copywriting, catching up on e-mails and/or running expense reports. All in a day’s work, right?

One of the things that’s been super important to me throughout my journey has been to stay true to the person that I am and not just push out content for content’s sake. The blogging experience has been vastly different for each individual person, by virtue of who we are, where we live, what our readers like and more… so today, I’m getting into what the experience has been like for me! If you’ve been reading this website for while, hopefully that’ll be of interest to you

A couple weeks ago, I had a chat about my experiences with blogging and with Wummy from Those African Chicks, and we recorded our conversation for you guys! It’s a little over an hour, but I hope every moment of it will be worth your time! We covered a lot of topics: how I balance my blog with my full-time job, my Nigerian roots, living in the U.S. as an African expat, and of course all of the intersections of my personal identity related to my own blogging experience. Press play to give it a listen!

You can also download the podcast onto your mobile device to give it a listen while you’re on the go HERE. Next stop is NYC for Fashion Week — stay tuned! Hope you had a great Labor Day long weekend! x
