Rediscovering Old Favorites

O

One of my favorite things about my blogging journey is that I get to document my own personal development over the years. There are things I used to love wearing and brands I used to shop religiously, that I honestly haven’t revisited in years… but sometimes all it takes is for a couple great coincidences to come together, and you’ll be lucky to rediscover old favorites that still have a certain magic about them.

This past weekend, I spent my Sunday doing something I haven’t done in a while: hang out around downtown Atlanta. Now, if you’re from Atlanta you probably get what I’m talking about. Downtown Atlanta is basically a ghost town on weekends, unless you’re doing the obvious tourist stuff or going to a big game or show at Philips Arena. Otherwise, you’re probably more likely to be hanging out with friends in one of the trendier neighborhoods like East Atlanta, West Midtown or Buckhead.

I wore this outfit to my friend’s baby shower, and Summit 21‘s awesome brunch event… and spent the rest of my morning hang out downtown. Something about taking a couple hours to myself to just walk around, enjoying the beautiful architecture, while wearing a brand I haven’t shopped at in ages (how cute are these Forever 21 striped pants? i used to shop there all the time in college!) reminded me to take time more often to appreciate some of the things we sometimes tend to take for granted, especially when we get super busy. So I made a promise to myself this summer: to finally do a huge closet clean out to start pulling back out pieces that I love and forgot about… maybe even give some items away (I host my giveaways on my stories!)… and start revisiting some of the places and things and I used to enjoy.
