Style Watch | Birkenstocks

It’s official: after several weeks of flip-flopping between a strange obsession and abject abhorrence, I’ve been bitten by the Birkenstock bug, and decided that I’m ready to jump aboard the “ugly” shoe trend!
That being said, I’m not letting myself get too carried away — I’ve been eyeing the Birkenstock Gizeh Sandal in Antique Lace for the past couple weeks now, and I feel like they’re a happy medium between outright man-repelling and making an attempt at looking at least a LITTLE bit cute. I just placed a pair on hold at the closest retailer to my work, and I’m headed to check them out over my lunch break. And not to worry… I just got my first pedicure of the summer in preparation for this momentous footwear adventure. Stay tuned!

What do you think about the Birkenstock trend? Your feet will thank you.

  • I’m still so unsure about the whole trend. I’ve never really liked Birkenstocks but they’ve been everywhere lately and I’ve seen some really cool ways to style them and outfits. They’re a lot more versatile than I thought. And you made a good point – my feet will thank me! Lol! I guess I’m on the fence about the whole trend. lol!

  • I felt iffy about this ugly shoes trend at first but I gave in a couple weeks ago haha. Love the slideshow format; looks great and easy for the eye! Followed you on GFC now!

Birks remind me of high school and comfort. I’m totally on board with the trend (even though I haven’t bought any myself.
