Daytime Smokey Eye with Maybelline

When it comes to my makeup regimen, I like to keep things simple. I’m never one to pack on multiple layers of powders, creams and shadows — I mean sure, it makes for a pretty picture, but the real world doesn’t really make time for us to do touch-ups at the top of every hour, does it? While I’ll never be one to pass up a good cat eye, when Maybelline sent me their 24K Nudes Eyeshadow, I knew that I couldn’t have found an easier combination of colors for day time wear!

For this look, I started with my favorites: a primer and foundation from Make Up Forever (I wear #180), a gold-toned highlighter and my current favorite matte lip color. Each of these products are ones that I swear by, and they always serve as a base for my go-to makeup looks!

Now comes the fun part — playing with the Maybelline 24K Nudes Eyeshadow palette! I’m not a makeup artist by any means, but one of the things I’ve learned along the way that’s helped me to nail my eyeshadow looks is to be in tune with my skin’s undertones. My skin is a lot warmer, so I always stay away from cooler tones and silvers when it comes to eyeshadow — otherwise I start looking like my 9-year old self, after my mom caught me getting busy in her makeup bag

the rich brown, gold, mahogany and  burgundy colors were the ones I gravitated towards… and when you’re not sure exactly what you’e doing — blending is your friend, trust me!!! What do you guys think of the finished product?[/one_half_last][one_third][/one_third][one_third][/one_third][one_third_last][/one_third_last]
