How I Ended Up at Paris Fashion Week this Year

As you’re reading this, I’m on my flight home from my week-long trip to Paris for Fashion Week, and I’m still pinching myself! If you guys follow other bloggers, you probably know the insane amount of prep work that goes into Fashion Week, but let me tell you how this trip happened for ME!

Back in April, I was sitting at work, stressed out and scrolling through Twitter during my lunch break, when I came across a tweet from Airfare Watchdog that highlighted a sale on flights from Atlanta to Paris for only $400! ENOUGH SAID – I booked my trip in under five minutes… before I even requested time off work, checked whether my friend (who shot this look for me! Didn’t she do such a great job?) would be in town, or even had any concrete plans about what I was even going to do while there. A couple days later, I reviewed my booked dates, and it coincided with Paris Fashion Week. Yep, it was definitely fate.

Fast forward a couple months later, you may remember when I decided to make more of an effort to make friends in my own city and that was how I met one of my new Atlanta friends, Amy. Over our very first dinner, discussions about upcoming travel came up, and Amy mentioned in passing that she was going to Paris in September. Wait, me too! We compared our travel plans, and we were literally booked on the same dates! Another check-mark for the powers that be… suddenly between friends and Fashion Week, my Paris itinerary was beginning to fill up.

Another fast forward to today. If you guys were following along on Snapchat and InstaStories, you probably caught bits and pieces of the whirlwind that was PFW. From attending great presentations and shows like Nicholas Kirkwood and Marimekko, going to brand events with Soho HouseAway and FWRD, and meeting some of my favorite blogger babes IRL like Natasha NdlovuAimee Song, Jacey Duprie and Hannah Bronfman… my Paris trip will forever be in my memory! I’m leaving Paris feeling inspired, grateful and ready to kick some major ass as I come home! Next season, this girl’s coming prepared!
